Wrapping up Black-history month the children celebrate and pose in front of their patchwork of artwork: a freedom quilt composed of thoughts, ideas, and drawings derived from their readalouds and story retelling. Later they compared and contrasted the community features of Sharon Dennis Wyeth's story "Something Beautiful" with those of our community. The story is an excellent source for visualization strategies.
