I wonder what that old letch Pic thought about that painting?
I think that he thought very well that it was a genius vision of Modernism breaking away from and above the influence of Puvis de Chavannes, synthesizing figurative elements with primitivism, detached from the roots of landscape.
I thought maybe he thought it was a good way to express his feelings about his favourite whores.
Ha, ha, indeed it has an Amsterdam feel to it!
