You never know what you could find at a yard sale for $200. Stories like this set off my imagination. Mr. E. J. Hughes was a student of the Group of Seven painter Fredrick Varley and exhibited at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1935. His early landscape work is prized by collectors.
