The first stage of City Councilor Giambrone's plan to beautify the neighborhood on Lansdowne Avenue is to chop down the trees.

These are great pictures Tim, nice.

Um...I have tried to read a smany things as I could about these trees being cut down. At first there was a "disease" but that doesn't seem to be the case...? True?

I suspect that there was the design to narrow the street makign a larger boulevard...and someone figured it was more aesthetic to move the tree areas over to the edge of the road or something.

It seems hairbrained...and why not plant vegetables and lettuce and herbs instead so the neighbours could have free food they grow themselves?

Now that would be practical design!

The other aspect: reduced parking implies that families will have no choice but to use their garage and lanes, thereby ending the culture of garage wine making, family festivals and soccer parties, etc.. These are the people who voted for Giambroni.

Weeeellll...not exactly.

They can still have wine making parties and festivals...and sell their cars!

Why does anybody who lives in a city need to own a car?

And more so...it's one thing to own one car...but how many families actually own two or more cars? It's ridiculous.

People get off their asses and walk to the grocery store like the rest of us!
