Councillor Giambroni's "Urban Planning" agenda regarding changes to Lansdowne Avenue, particularly narrowing the street by 1.4 metres is protested by some 100+ concerned members of the community on May 22. It seems that there was no prior consultation with the community by Giambroni and the rally organizers are miffed as to why the changes have been proposed in the first place. Residents, displeased and wondering what options will be available for the elderly and disabled when parking is removed from one side of the street, protest at a crosswalk on Lansdowne Avenue. The decreased parking lane will create a bottleneck effect on the already busy throughway of a street. I wonder what the effect the proposed changes will have on winter traffic?

ARG!!! This amkes me crazy!!!!!
Next they will make it a one way and then put in fricking spped bumps. Where is Jane Jacobs when we need her...or her followers!!!!
Down with urban unplanning!!!!
The suporters went to City Hall yesterday and the city is going through with the alterations despite resident refutations. Giambroni wasn't in attendance.
If you think this doesn't affect your neighbourhood think again. no consultation to narrow a main throughway for traffic, yet Dufferin Grove Park gets 2 meetings with Giambrone about installing a TOILET!!
Its outragous and I'm tired of being stonewall by Giambrone and his assistance.
Timmer,
Is it possible to use some of your photos of this demonstration? Please let me know.
